Delegates must have successfully completed a nationally accredited working at heights course prior to the commencement of this course
INTRODUCTION
The course is designed to provide;
A theoretical and practical training module that provides comprehensive learning materials for those persons responsible for detailed periodic inspections of height safety equipment.
Assistance to trainees in setting up recording systems for the equipment and carrying out periodic inspections throughout the life of a number of items of equipment.
The illustration of strengths and weaknesses of various products and materials.
COURSE SYLLABUS
Theory
The theory elements of this module will include topics such as:
Completing inspection records
Inspecting equipment and recording the findings
Monitoring the continual degradation of items of equipment and assessing the point at which to withdraw items from service
Processes for quarantining equipment
Processes for investigating the effects of contaminants and the details required for returning to service
COURSE SYLLABUS
Practical
In addition to the theory elements this module has a number of practical elements to be completed by the candidate;
Set up an equipment register
Inspect and record damaged samples of height safety equipment
COURSE SUMMARY
All delegates will be monitored by the trainer throughout the practical sessions. Any concerns will be addressed by delegate and trainer on a continual basis.
Throughout the course trainees will have completed a logging system for a range of equipment, this will be assessed by the trainer and the trainees will retain this as an example for their records.
